Privacy Policy

Sati ("we," "our," or "the app") is a Buddhist meditation companion. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data.

1. Information We Collect

• Account data: Email address, display name (when you create an account)
• Practice data: Meditation session duration, type, date, and time
• Progress data: Streaks, milestones, scripture reading progress
• Chat messages: Messages sent to our AI companion (Sati AI)
• Usage analytics: App usage events associated with your account (screens viewed, features used). You can turn this off in Settings → Privacy.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To provide and improve the meditation experience
• To track your practice progress across devices
• To power the AI companion feature (messages are sent to Anthropic's API)
• To understand app usage patterns and improve features

3. Third-Party Services

• Supabase: Database, authentication, and usage analytics (hosted on AWS). Analytics events are stored in our own Supabase database — we do not use a third-party analytics provider.
• Anthropic: AI chat processing (messages are processed by Claude AI). Chat messages are not stored by Sati or Anthropic beyond real-time processing.
• Vercel: App hosting
• RevenueCat: Subscription management (if you subscribe to Pro)
• Sentry: Error and crash reporting. When the app encounters an error, diagnostic information (stack traces, device type, app version) may be sent to Sentry to help us fix bugs. No meditation content or personal messages are included.
• ElevenLabs: Text-to-speech for guided meditations. Meditation instruction text is sent to ElevenLabs for audio generation. This is used only for pre-generated meditation audio, not for user-created content.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): Push notification delivery. A device token is generated and stored locally to enable mindfulness reminders and session alerts. We do not use this token for advertising.

We do not sell your personal data to any third parties.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL on AWS) with encryption at rest and in transit. Row-level security ensures you can only access your own data. Chat messages are processed by Anthropic but not stored by them beyond their standard processing window.

5. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of all your data
• Rectification: Correct inaccurate personal data
• Erasure: Delete your account and all associated data
• Portability: Export your meditation data (CSV export available for Pro users)
• Object: Opt out of usage analytics anytime in Settings → Privacy

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days.

7. Children

Sati is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

8. Subscriptions

If you subscribe to Sati Pro, payment is processed by Apple (App Store), Google (Play Store), or Stripe (web). We do not store your credit card or payment details.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app.
